Let’s be honest. Summer hits, and it feels like half the world disappears. Clients are away. Colleagues slow down. Your inbox is full of “I’ll be out of the office until…” auto-replies.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking, “Well, maybe I should take my foot off the gas too.” But if you’re serious about your goals Q3, Q4, your pipeline, your momentum, then summer is not the time to coast.

Here’s how I think about it and how I coach my clients through the summer months to keep the fire lit, even when the world seems to be on pause.

Reframe What Summer Means for Your Business

Most agents assume things naturally slow down in the summer. That belief is the first thing you need to challenge. Buyers actually have more time to shop. Families want to move before the school year starts. And with fewer agents making noise, your voice can travel further.

So instead of saying “it’s slow,” ask yourself: Where are the opportunities I might be overlooking?

Build a Summer Routine That Works for You

You don’t need to grind sunup to sundown. But you do need structure. I always recommend a lighter, more focused version of your ideal week. What does that look like?

Keep prospecting consistent, even if it’s just 60–90 minutes a day. Front-load your week, get the heavy lifting done Monday through Wednesday so you’re not scrambling before long weekends. Use Fridays to follow up with your pipeline, prep for opens, or shoot a video.

Even a few focused hours each day can keep the momentum going. And let’s be real... when everyone else is off the radar, just showing up gives you the edge.

Use the Quiet Moments to Sharpen Your Tools

If you do hit a quiet week, lean into it. Don’t panic. Don’t disappear. Use that time to get better and double down on your conversations!

Clean up your CRM. Update your listing presentation. Create a new video series or batch your next few Instagram posts. Practice your scripts. Revisit your Q3 plan.

Realistically, if your pipeline feels slow, double down on your prospecting to make sure that you're reaching out to the right number of people to fill up your pipeline.

This is the stuff no one wants to do when things are busy—but when you take the time now, you’ll thank yourself later.

Stay Connected with Your People

Summer’s a great time to reconnect in a human way. Not every message needs to be about buying or selling. A quick check-in: “Hope you’re having an amazing summer!” can go a long way in staying top of mind.

Even better? Host something. A casual client appreciation event, a back-to-school drive, or a simple giveaway. It keeps your name out there without having to feel pushy.

Momentum Lives in the Small Wins

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people waiting to feel motivated. But motivation doesn’t

show up on its own... it’s built. And the fastest way to build it is through small, consistent wins.

Have one good conversation. Shoot one video. Send one handwritten note. Improve one system. These small moves create movement, and movement creates momentum.

Final Thoughts

You don’t have to be everywhere or do everything. But you do have to stay engaged. While everyone else is checked out, this is your time to get clear, get visible, and stay consistent.

Because come fall, the agents who stayed in motion are going to hit the ground running and the ones who disappeared? They’ll be scrambling to catch up.

Choose which one you want to be.
